Kickstarter- Another Tie to My High School Theatre Days

Mr. Akers, the Theatre teacher at my alma mater made a wise decision.

We were rehearsing a play called The Man Who Came to Dinner. It's a pretty decent comedy to come out of the 30s-40s. I was cast to play a role that you would think would be easy for me. I was cast to play a teenage boy. It was crazy difficult. I could not for the life of me get my mind, body, and spirit to truthfully portray a typical teenage boy onstage, and I was a teenage boy. On the other hand, a very sweet girl had trouble portraying the role of an elderly lady who was an axe murderer.

Akers had a stroke of genius. We swapped roles. The teenage boy became a teenage girl and the young actress thrived. And, I got the chance of a lifetime. In my first play ever, I portrayed a cross dressing axe murderer. RAD!

The character's name was Harriet.

One of the main characters in this graphic novel is named Harriet.

Coincidence??????

Harriet the Honey Packet is very different from Harriet Sedley though. Harriet the Honey Packet is based off of my wonderful wife. She's sweet, like honey.

Harriet Sedley was a murdering, flirty basket-case. I loved playing that role.

It's NIECE WEEK!!!

This past week has been Niece Week here in Fred Land.

My wife and I have 6 adorable nieces and they provide cute comedy every time we see them. There's a lot of autobiography in the Niece Week pieces which we hope you enjoy.I wish my drawings were cute to do our nieces more justice.

It's been a Crazy Couple o' Weeks!

Last week, we saw the sweet Auntie Relish again. We also had a lot of weirdness, we decided to bend the universe a bit and it was fun going on a trip down Absurd Lane.

We even had Fred create a "scented" webcomic. There was a contest held for people to photograph themselves actually smelling the comic. Cameron Davison was the only one who had the courage to do it. So, he won. Also, he is a sensational writer. Check out his website at the link below.

Sorry Miouo! I'm not sure Naver (the company that owns Webtoons) would like the creators placing the fully finished comics on our blogs. Some do, and people even pirate the comics, but since I'm in their funhouse, I want to give them their due respect. So, since they have us make thumbnails, I'll put them to use here.

And, I will use this blog to go into depth on the comics. As stupid as Fred can be, there are reasons why I write the things that I write.

Now, in real life, my wonderful wife LOVES shopping for greeting cards. It's adorable, she has a filing system and a list of up-coming birthdays, holidays and events. My family is more goofball than hers, so she sends me down the aisles with the more crass cards when we go shopping. She always choses sweet, tastefully designed cards for her family. She has fond memories of shopping at Hallmark with her mother when she was a little one. It's so cute, she has the Hallmark frequent shopper membership thingy.

That's the balance of life. She's sweet and I'm a goofball, somehow our life circles meet in a Venn Diagram.

I love her, she's wonderful. And, I love jokes involving butts.

Fred the Mustard Packet and Harriet the Honey Packet Visit the Wilderness

My wife and I were treated to a wonderful weekend at a wonderful cabin thanks to our wonderful in-laws. It was a short trip, but relaxing. This did not happen to us, but had we hiked together or stayed longer, I could imagine us being goofballs like this.

Fred the Mustard Packet Gets His Wisdom Teeth Extracted

zZZZoh man, I just had my wisdom teeth removed. And, it was a rough week of pain as I recovered from it.

My wonderful wife, Michelle, kept me on a well crafted schedule of pain meds and constantly helped me for the whole week.

And, she herself deals with chronic pain everyday!!!

My love and respect go to her, my mom, and Auntie Jo. They are at a constant disadvantage in this world. I dealt with it for only a weak and only in my face. I can't imagine what these strong women must go through. I am lucky to be a part of their lives. In spite of their dark pain, they manage to light up my world in wonderful ways every single day.

I hope that the scientists of the world will relieve their suffering. All, I can do for them is make them laugh. Cheers to all of those doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and chemists who trying to sort this stuff out. Be well, my friends.
